At her core, Katrina is driven by her unwavering commitment to God, which informs and transforms every interaction she has with clients seeking to better themselves both personally and professionally. Her faithfulness is a superpower, and it shines through her in every aspect of her life.
Professionally, Katrina began her incredible journey as a spin instructor in 2001, which led her down the path to personal training, nutritional coaching, and the creation of TrueFitness by Katrina. 20 years later, while her job description has changed, her passion for authentic fitness has not. She has rebranded and expanded her business to YKatrina LLC, devoting her time to areas beyond the physical side of coaching.
Over the years, I have worked with many different clients with various goals. I love to see the changes that take place in each one of them. Seeing these changes and impact it has on their life is what keeps me motivated and loving my career. This is not just a 9-5 job for me, this is my life! It would be a privilege to have the opportunity to work with you and help you along your journey.

What is your guilty pleasure?
A good-looking brownie. I say good-looking because if a brownie or any dessert doesn’t look worth my time, I can easily pass it up. But a gooey, chewy and warm brownie (no frosting or nuts) I can eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner without feeling any shame!
If you weren’t in this industry, what would you do?
If I didn’t know any better, I would say I’d own my own bakery! By default, I am the girl that everyone wants to bring the dessert. I grew up in Alaska on a 40-acre homestead and I found myself always baking things from scratch, and to be honest not always baking but sneaking the dough and batter all to myself. As a teenager living in a town of 4500 people, I would bake during the holidays and make trays and trays of desserts to deliver to all my friends and their families for them to enjoy. I only reframe from baking because I am so sure of the career God has called me into was health and wellness.
Tell us more about this Homestead!
I truly believe the perseverance that I have today is because of this upbringing. No joke, we lived 3 miles up a creek, with no running water or electricity. We walked the hour to the school bus and home despite the below-freezing temperatures, snow, or any other weather the Alaska winters could throw our way. We had to haul snow to melt for baths and cooking water, cut firewood, etc., despite being at a young age. I learned hard work, and to just get it done despite the circumstances. If my kids had to hear one more time, well when I was a kid, they might disown me.
Extravert or Introvert?
The funny thing is I am often told I am an extrovert and I argue with people that I am not. I would say that I am an introvert at heart but, God has called me into an industry and ministries that have taught me how to be a situational extrovert. That said, I have had to learn ways to recharge my batteries when my comfort zone is to sit in silence in a room all by myself. Well maybe not all alone, but with my pan of brownies, just kidding. One of the best gifts my husband has ever given, and as silly as this sounds, was a week away at a hotel to lock myself in and spend with God in complete silence. In fact, I encourage everyone to at least do this once a year for a minimum of 1 full day.
What pulls on your heartstrings the most?
I can think of two things; the First being any movie, commercial, show, or even a picture of a military homecoming, or departure I will probably 90% of the time get all choked up as this just hits so close to home with my husband being retired military and knowing the wave of emotions that come with this. Second, seeing people in physical pain, it just kills me because I know that majority of the time there is something I can do to help them not have to live with that pain. The sad part is there are not enough hours in a day to help everyone I see walking down the street and to be honest some people don’t want help to get out of pain. It is just heartbreaking to see people living with it.
We are all given the same 24 hours. How are you able to maximize your productivity?
First off, yes, we are all given the same 24 hours, but the main key to remember is that we are not called to do EVERYTHING and help EVERYONE. We must learn when to say yes and when to say no to adding things to our daily schedules. Honestly, this was a struggle and a journey for me. 1st learning when to say no to things God wasn’t asking me to do but others were, and 2nd I’d say it is the God-given system of GPS Mastery He gave me in 2019 that has allowed me to be so effective and intentional with my time. Prior, it was like a double edge sword. Feeling guilty if I was working and not spending it with family and friends or felt the same guilt if I wasn’t working.
How do you keep your drive and passion to serve in ministry after 10+ years?
Serving is not a task to check off the list for me. I’d say it probably was in the past when I was saying yes to serving in any ministry asked to serve in because it was the “good Christian” thing to do. I’ve learned God did not call me to do everything. I started praying and asking what ministries He was calling me to serve and in what capacity. Now that I truly believe I am exactly where God wants me and using the gifts and talents, He has given me it no longer becomes a task but a joy and pleasure every time I have the opportunity to step and serve. If I could start every day by singing and praying to the Lord for 6 hours as I do on Sundays, I’d be so happy.
What makes you passionate about holistic approaches to health care and why is taking preventative measures so important to you?
As a child from the ages of 2 to 12 years old, I spent countless times in the doctor’s office, at the ER, scans, dyes, labs, imagining, hospital stays, and even surgery trying to fix my health. 10 years of my life revolved around this. It wasn’t until I was 12 my mom took me to see a naturopathic doctor that I finally had a breakthrough with my health. Now I will not lie and say I loved to drink, pitch sap pine bark tea. It was not the best thing ever, but I stopped being in the ER and doctors’ offices constantly for the first time in 10 years. I believe we have a choice to make with our health. We can either live proactively and take all the best measures to be as preventative as possible, or we can do what most people do which is live a reactive life and make changes once there is a need. I wish more people would be proactive with their life. I teach my clients holistic approaches to their health through nutrition, holistic supplements, and activators.
